The Opportunity

According to the American Diabetes Association, there are over 20 million people in the United States who have diabetes.  Approximately 10.3 million of these people are over 60 years of age.  In addition, over the next 10 years the number of people over 60 with diabetes will double, as the baby boomers enter retirement age.  Today, there are not enough people to provide the products and services necessary to help these people fight and manage their conditions.

The challenge is to educate the people who need therapies they are eligible for.  Many people diagnosed with diabetes do not know they are eligible for diabetic shoes, supplies, therapy pumps, etc.  Today, only a small percentage of the people eligible for diabetic shoes, have received them.

Since Medicare has established prices for these therapies, providers do not compete on price.  The only competition is to find and educate the eligible Medicare recipients and explain their benefits.  Many of these participants have immediate needs for diabetic shoes, supplies, therapy pumps, and other therapies.
